As an experienced labor and delivery nurse I was very thoughtful (and some may say picky) about the care surrounding my own pregnancy and delivery. I have witnessed a wide range of birth experiences and knew I wanted only the best, which is why I chose Plano Birthplace. After speaking with Jeanine and Lindsay I felt confident that their training and experiences would guide them in providing me and my family with a high level of care. Their relationships and collaboration with other providers contributed to my level of trust in them. Near the end of my pregnancy I had some anxiety and worries about how the process would unfold, but their unwavering trust in my body and baby provided me with so much comfort. Every aspect of our experience at Plano Birthplace has exceeded my expectations. It is my dream that all women can birth surrounded by such support and peace. My only regret is that I waited until my third baby to work with them!

The midwives and birth assistant were phenomenal here. This was our first experience out of the hospital setting and wow! What a difference it made! I really do believe that their patient centered model of care ought to be how everything medically related should be.

I can’t say enough great things about Plano Birthplace! I had both of my kids there and my experience with them has been amazing from the very beginning! Both Jeannine and Lindsay are very attentive and truly care about their moms and babies. They want you to have the best birth experience you possibly can. As a NICU nurse, I’m aware of worst case scenarios and having a safe birth was very important to me! However, I really wanted a natural birth on my own terms in a calm and peaceful environment. Plano Birthplace provided me with both! I felt so at peace throughout the whole process. I saw both Jeannine and Lindsay throughout both my pregnancies. The two of them were so amazing in making sure I felt comfortable and prepared. Lindsay was the one to deliver both my babies, and I am forever grateful for how amazing she was at both births! I can’t wait to come back and deliver with them again in the future :)

I had the very best experience with Plano Birthplace and I’d recommend it to any of my friends! I left each of my prenatal appointments feeling so reassured after I was able to talk through each of my questions or fears. I felt confident going into labor that my midwife and I would be able to handle anything together. And then I was only at the birth center for 30 minutes before my baby was born, so I really missed out on the whole birth center *experience*. (No complaints from me there!)But the real reason this birth center earns my recommendation is for all of the support I received postpartum. A postpartum nurse and IBCLC was sent to my house 2 days after birth to check me, baby, and answer questions. I could text the midwives with any questions at any hour. I was able to stop by the birth center for frequent weight checks, was referred to a trusted IBCLC for supply issues, and was even able to utilize PBP’s network of moms to get some donor milk for my baby. In comparison, with my first hospital birth I was sent home with high blood pressure, low milk supply, and was left to figure it all out on my own until my 6wk checkup. Women deserve so much better than for an OB to deliver their baby and never see them again, and this birth center provides that. Would absolutely deliver my next baby at PBP again!

We initially worked with an obstetrician / gynecologist. Even though one of the best in our area, each visit felt just ok. My impression was we're just next in line. Everyone was always nice and helpful but something was missing. At the end of the 7th month of pregnancy with our 2nd baby I proposed a different route. We were lucky as someone just move out to another state and we could take her spot. We started meeting Jeannine and Lindsey every other week. Each visit was amazing, just like it should be! I couldn't think of a better experience. Shout out to Lindsey who was assisting as during labor at night while being in her 8 months pregnancy. Incomparable experience vs hospital setting. Once you try this way there is no going back, that's for sure.
